The Junction Box Unit (JBU) from MC-monitoring is a rugged, modular field enclosure designed to simplify the integration of sensors and signal conditioners in demanding industrial environments.
Engineered for condition monitoring applications, the JBU provides a centralized, protected interface for wiring, grounding, and signal routing close to the machine. Its flexible design makes it suitable for hydropower units, wind turbines, and other critical rotating machinery where reliability and ease of installation are essential.

Description
The Junction Box Unit (JBU) is designed to protect and organize electrical connections between MC-monitoring sensors, signal conditioners, and acquisition systems. Installed close to the machine, it acts as a reliable field interface that simplifies cabling, improves accessibility, and supports proper grounding and shielding practices.
To ensure maximum flexibility, JBU units are delivered unassembled. This allows each enclosure to be configured according to the specific project requirements, including the number of sensors, the type of conditioners, and the selected output concept. Assembly can be carried out by the customer using the provided components and documentation, or performed by MC-monitoring upon request.
The JBU range is particularly suited for rotating machinery applications where robustness, flexibility, and signal integrity are critical.

1. Choose the enclosure size
Two enclosure sizes are available to match different installation needs:

2. Select the mounting configuration
The JBU supports three mounting configurations, depending on the application:
- Sensors only: This configuration is intended for installations where only sensors are connected inside the enclosure. This option provides a clean and compact solution for simple sensor integration without local signal conditioning.
- Sensors and/or DIN-rail-mounted conditioners: This configuration combines sensor wiring and signal conditioning within the same enclosure. It allows both sensors and/or DIN-rail mounted conditioners to be installed and wired inside the JBU, reducing external cabling and simplifying commissioning.
- Backplate-mounted conditioners (JBU-2xx only): This configuration is designed for applications requiring backplate-mounted conditioners, such as AGT systems. This layout ensures proper integration of backplate-mounted conditioners while maintaining organized wiring within the enclosure.
3. Define the output type
- Multiwire output: A single consolidated output cable for simplified routing.
- Individual outputs: Separate output cables for each sensor or signal, offering maximum flexibility.
