Description

Piezoelectric sensors are a well-established technology. Our sensors are powered by a 4mA constant current source using an industry standard ICP-2 wire. Their hermetically sealed housing allows application in harsh environments. The sensors are available with an integral top cable or with top or side output connectors. Depending on the sensor type, the integrated electronics provide a signal proportional to acceleration (PAS) or velocity (PVS).

When should you choose a PAS Instead of a PVS?

Selecting between our PAS and PVS depends on your specific monitoring needs. Opt for a PAS when precise, high-frequency vibration data is crucial, as it excels in detecting rapid changes in acceleration which is vital for diagnosing issues like bearing failures or misalignment in machinery. Conversely, choose a PVS when you need to measure overall velocity, which is more indicative of the machine's operational condition. Essentially, PAS sensors are ideal for detailed, diagnostic insights, while PVS sensors are better for general health monitoring over time.
